Improving Health Equity in Dementia Care - The Impact of Cultural Background on Carer Knowledge and Mental Health in Dementia

University of Sydney

Most dementia research and support programs have been developed using majority populations, with limited understanding of the experiences of carers from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds in Australia.

This study aims to better understand how cultural background may influence dementia knowledge, experiences of caregiving, engagement with support services, and wellbeing among carers supporting someone living with dementia.

This study has been approved by the University of Sydney Human Research Ethics Committee (2025/HE000612)
