New Screening Tools for Cognitive Impairment in Older Adults
Scientists at the Australian National University (ANU) are conducting research examining new tools for screening mild cognitive impairment in older adults and you are invited to participate. To do this, this project is seeking to recruit two groups of older adults – one who have Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI), and one who do not.
This study has been approved by the Australian National University Human Research Ethics Committee (Protocol 2025/0420)
Participation
In order to participate you need to:
- Be 60 years or older
- Have normal or corrected-to-normal vision (glasses OK)
- Be able to read and write in English
AND meet ONE of the following criteria:
Have a diagnosis of Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) from a
healthcare providerOR
- Never have had a previous diagnosis of Mild Cognitive
Impairment (MCI) or dementia related disorder
Participation involves, completing cognitive tasks and questionnaires about your health and cognition for about 40-60 minutes. Eligibility will be confirmed at the ANU (via cognitive screening) and ineligibility is possible. As a token of appreciation, participants will be provided with $20.
