As well as completing an online application form, applicants must upload the following supporting documents (in PDF format, following naming conventions) on the application portal (where applicable):

Application Endorsement
All applications must be endorsed by the applicant, named Supervisors/Associate Investigators and the Administering Institution. This endorsement takes place through the online portal, once all the relevant fields are completed.  All endorsements must be received by Dementia Australia Research Foundation by the submission deadline.Â
Dementia Research PlatformÂ
Dementia Australia and the Sax Institute have partnered to develop the Dementia Research Platform tool, bringing together 20 years of longitudinal survey data from the 45 and Up Study.  The platform will offer Dementia Australia Research Foundation–funded researchers with direct access to a dataset for investigating dementia risk, progression and outcomes at population scale.
In 2026, applicants can indicate in their proposal if they require access to the Dementia Research Platform. Shortlisted applications will be reviewed by the Sax Institute, to ensure that the request is feasible and that the data can be accessed as proposed (applicants will be asked to provide further information at this stage).Â
Further information is available in the Information for Applicants Booklets or contact foundation@dementia.org.au. Applicants can also contact the Sax Institute directly 45andUp.research@saxinstitute.org.au if they have any queries about the platform or require technical information (such as data dictionaries).
